Bicentennial Celebration 2024
Celebrate & Serve! – St. James Episcopal Church, Painesville, Ohio – 1824-2024
Dear Beloved Parishioners and Friends,
For 200 years, the Parish of St. James Episcopal Church in Painesville, Ohio has been Celebrating the love of Christ and Serving the community. From our humble beginnings in 1824, starting out by meeting in parishioner’s homes or local store fronts, to a small wood frame building in 1836, to the laying of the cornerstone in 1836 of our current Victorian Gothic church, we have been impacting the city of Painesville for two centuries! The history of St. James is the history of the Episcopal Church in Ohio and the history of the people of Painesville and the Ohio Western Reserve.
Join us over the next twelve months as we Celebrate our past, present, and future, and continue our Service in our community and the world, declaring Jesus Christ’s love for everyone, no exceptions!
