St. James – Celebrating and Serving God and Our Community Since 1824

As we begin another new liturgical year, we reflect back on the previous one. 2024 was full of service and celebration and marked the 200th year since our congregation was officially formed. Many people came together to remember, to serve our community and to celebrate our accomplishments. 

All of us at St. James feel blessed to have had you partake in our celebration. We thank everyone for all the hard work, time and dedication that was given to us and our Bicentennial.

As we embark on the new year and the next chapter of our faith journey, we look forward to continued service in our community, growth in our love for one another, and the work that needs to be done to in the name of our Savior Jesus Christ.

Thanksgiving Collect for 200 Years (by R. Jackman) – Almighty God, we thank you for the Rev. Silas C. Freeman and the families who came together here in Painesville to form St. James Parish two hundred years ago. We thank you for the faith they planted here in Painesville. We also thank you for those who came after and nurtured and grew the love of God in Painesville and the surrounding  area. And finally we would humbly ask you to watch over us as we continue the work begun to bring God’s Love to the world. This we ask in the name of your Son, Jesus Christ Our Lord. Amen
